The House of Hope

“Thank you so much for giving us a home, love and support. We wouldn’t have made it without the House of Hope. You saved our lives!”

Phone Home

Touching hearts and transforming lives since it’s inception in 1990, our weekly Phone Home Program connects youth and young adult volunteer groups with homeless adults living on the streets of downtown Seattle. Through meaningful interactions, we compassionately offer hurting men and women a way to reconnect with their families and get off the streets permanently.

The Mamma's Hands Story

From a chance encounter with a homeless man and his son, the seeds for Mamma’s Hands were planted. Nearly 30 years later we have served thousands of homeless men, women, and children because of the vision of one man, Denny Hancock.

Be a Part of our Family

Hope is at the heart of all that we do at Mamma’s Hands. From reuniting homeless men and women with their families to keeping mothers and children warm and safe at the House of Hope, we can only do our life-saving work because of your support.

In 1990, a chance encounter with a homeless father and son changed the life of Denny Hancock forever.  With the support of family and friends, Denny founded Mamma’s Hands and, in 1994, the House of Hope.  Our mission is to help those in crisis regain their self-respect and help them become productive members of society.  With the help of countless volunteers and donors, Mamma’s Hands has grown into a powerful force for good in the Seattle area.  We hope you will take time to explore this site.
