Programs and Services

At the House of Hope, each family receives tailored case management and support services aimed at building skills and removing obstacles to long-term housing stability. We work closely with partner organizations to connect families with crucial resources like domestic violence support, addiction recovery, parenting workshops, job training, financial literacy, children’s developmental screenings, and counseling. Using Trauma-Informed Care, Mamma’s Hands addresses the underlying causes of homelessness—addiction, abuse, and poverty—helping women create lasting, positive change for themselves and their families

Our Purpose

Since its founding in 1990, Mamma's Hands has evolved from a street outreach program into the House of Hope, a safe and supportive home for mothers and children committed to overcoming crisis and building self-reliance. Approximately 87% of the mothers we serve have endured significant violence and trauma. At the House of Hope, we provide a safe, structured, and healing environment, along with the resources and support they need to find stability, care for their children, and gain the confidence to set and achieve personal goals.

Our Program

We provide help, hope, and healing to unsheltered families in the greater Seattle area.

At the House of Hope, each family receives individualized case management and services, with a focus on building skills and removing barriers to long-term housing stability. We work closely with our partner organizations to connect families with vital resources, including domestic violence support, addiction recovery, parenting workshops, job readiness courses, financial literacy classes, children's developmental screenings, counseling, and support groups.

Aftercare Program

Once a family moves into permanent housing, we partner with others to help furnish their new home, ensuring they have a comfortable start. Families are also invited to join our Aftercare Program, which offers ongoing support for several years after they graduate from our shelter. This extended connection provides a safety net, offering guidance and resources to help families maintain stability and prevent a return to homelessness, ensuring their long-term success.
