What we can help with
A few common examples — but this list isn’t the limit. If it’s an essential need, tell us about it and we’ll see what we can do.
- Car repair needed for work, treatment, or appointments
- A utility bill that’s past due or already shut off
- Rent you’ve fallen behind on
- First month, last month, or deposit on a new place
- Phone bill, especially if you need it for work or staying in touch with your case manager
- Medical or dental costs
- Something else essential — ID replacement, work equipment, childcare tied to a job or treatment, and so on
What to have ready
We can move faster with these attached:
- The actual bill, invoice, or statement — showing the total owed
- Something showing what you’ve already put toward it (a receipt, pay stub, or bank statement)
- Any other help you’re getting toward this same bill, and how much
Don’t have everything yet? Send what you have — your case manager can help you track down the rest.
How a request is decided
We put in what’s left after your own contribution — we don’t cover the full cost. We’d like to see you cover the majority of it where you can, but that’s a guideline, not a hard rule — every request is looked at case-by-case, based on your situation and what you’ve been able to put together. Everything you submit goes first to your case manager, who reviews it and turns it over to the Executive Director, who approves or denies the request. Most requests are decided within a few business days. If more information is needed, your case manager will reach out.
